Quiz answers for jac: 1. a, 2. b, and 3. c
Settled back into the hospital routine. I believe tonight's culinary delight is Salisbury steak, whipped potatoes and green beans.
The WBC is 4.8 up from 3.8 yesterday. Even though this is in the range ( 4.0 -11.0), Jack being of substantial stature needs to be more towards the high end but this is progress. This is the white blood count number that controls infections, which we are still convinced he has as he is still running fevers. They did blood cultures in the ER but it takes 2 days to get the results back and we always seem to work it so there is a weekend in the middle.
RBC was up to 3.18 (should be 4.6-6.2) and was on a downward trend with yesterday's number at 2.79 and today's number at 2.85. Jack is not getting the growth hormone shot to force the cell production so a little drop was expected. He needs to do some work on his own, but I am wondering if his energy is going to making white blood cells since he has infections?? Anyway, they are giving him a blood donation as we speak to bump that up a little.
Platelet count was 54 yesterday, today is 48. Again the wrong direction!! Range should be 150-400.

Thanks for all we have recieved!
Happy Birthday George!

Jack and Cheryl -
Still following the ups and downs. Like many others, this has become part of my daily routine. Sorry to see the setback. I'm praying more than ever for better times ahead. Hang in there Jack and get those counts up!!

I wish there was some way we could hurry the recovery/healing process. I check for progress daily and keep hoping and praying for the best news (I know it is coming).
Mark wants me to look for old C-House pictures of Autumn. I hear thats where the class reunion is being held. We also got a call from Kevin Still, he needs a couple guys for the band (for the reunion) and wants to know if you and Mark are available..lol. He has ALL of the equipment. The pay is cheap but the food is good..lol.
On a serious note, you two both need to rest. Jack make room in that skinny bed for your new wife.
We're praying hard.
Love ya

I hope thie "mother may I" routine doesn't get you down. One step forward and three back one day, then three forward the next is still one step ahead. As always, our thoughts and prayers are with you both.
quiz for the day:
1)The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function. One should, for example, be able to see that things are hopeless and yet be determined to make them otherwise.
2)There are no hopeless situations, only people who are hopeless about them.
3) Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.

b)Pope John XXIII
c)F. Scott Fitzgerald
Well, we are all entitled to a little down time from now and then. Unfortunately, I've spent my last two days getting my computer up and running again. You've got to hate those viruses. So, I'm sorry for being out of touch for a couple of days. Quick update on bowling, we took all 8 points on Thursday. Scores were low, but better than the opponents. Everyone continues to ask about you. I'm heading to Blakely's on Sunday to disconnect her kitchen faucet. Granite will be installed this week. She's such a sweet young lady. You couldn't ask for a better step-daughter. I was in New Cumberland last weekend, and set foot in the Junior High Gym for the first time in 24 years. Not much has changed. I can still picture us running up and down the court shooting baskets, wearing blue shorts and white, Converse All Stars. It's nice to see Mark posting to the Blog! Kevin mustn't forget about Richard! Those were the days, sitting back and listening to you guys play! Rock On!! You take care of yourself! We all send you our love and prayers! Lee, Jackie & Helen Marie.

Mark is going to try calling Richard. I think the phone number we have is still the correct one.
We'll see if he is up for the band...lol
If we get a hold of him, I'll give him the blog address.
I am off to work. I'll check the blog this evening...praying for good news!
Kathy
Jack and Cheryl,
Sorry to hear your counts aren't where they should be. Maybe it's just God's way of healing you slowly so you can get needed rest and downtime to enjoy your new wife for awhile with no distractions. I truly believe he knows what's best for us all. I check your progress every day and pray for good news. Hang in there. Better times are on the horizon!
It's good to see many old friends from high school keeping in touch and planning for reunion! I am looking forward to seeing everyone again after all these years.
Cindy was here last week. She went home to sub zero temps, frozen pipes and no heat! Down here we are freezin when the temp drops below 70! I'm feeling sorry for all those people in the cold, but I told Cindy she could stay here with us!!!!
Needless to say, the plane was not too crowded going back to PIT!
Keep the faith! We're all praying for you!
Love, Jeanie
Jack/Cher,
Well, the battle is not for the faint of heart, and to see you fighting together is a blessing... Truly "two are better than one", Ecclesiates 4.

Terry
